FYI: The Tao of Social Entrepreneurship. And Technology.

"When you do the common things in life in an uncommon way, you will command the attention of the world." George Washington Carver

What is Social Entrepreneurship?

Statement of Faith
You can find other "Market with Meaning" but you definitely want to see "Profit with Purpose".
I personally "Believe in Kingdom Transformation" because I know there is only ONE "Life for Significant".

News on The Edge
Welcome to the Social Edge update!

“What's the flow of social entrepreneurship? What's its way, what's its nature, how does it naturally unfold, what are its sources, its springs, its aquifers, its currents and eddies, its curves and swerves --how does it flow?

Only a contributor like Charles (Hipbone) Cameron could be so eloquent about social change, and we asked him to host a “flowing conversation” on the Tao of Social Entrepreneurship.

Join him as he wonders what can best generate the flow of enthusiasm and funding, but also what could possibly weaken or block that flow.

Then check Parag Gupta’s enlightening conversation on dignity and poverty, Rod Schwartz’s provocative debate on women in the social economy, and Untangled’s post on poverty and incarceration.

Leila Janah, the founder of Samasource, responds to those who accuse her of creating “virtual sweatshops.” She reminds us that in the countries where she works, "children are made to skip school and weave rugs, work in brothels or plow fields.” Is completing a few tasks in an online game in the same category?

Technology will not solve all problems, but check in with Dr. O as he updates us on Fundraising Phone Apps and Rio-based Dhaval Chadha as he tells us why he is writing a business plan for cyber cafés in Brazil.

Then join Kiva Fellow Anne Hector in Nairobi as she explains what happens when technology is not available: getting pictures posted in parts of the world with slow Internet access is oftentimes what slows down the micro-lending process to a crawl.
