South West social enterprise long-listed for £100,000 Art Fund Prize 2010

The Leach Pottery in St Ives is one of eleven institutions long-listed for the £100,000 Art Fund Prize, the UK’s largest single arts prize. The long list has been selected by a panel of Judges chaired this year by broadcaster Kirsty Young. Traditionally the long list comprises ten, but for the 2010 Prize eleven institutions have been nominated, attesting to the high quality and
volume of applications received.

LawWorks Choices

The LawWorks Choices project has now achieved 1500 hours of pro bono work amongst the current volunteers, which is a fantastic achievement! However, there is always scope for more. LawWorks is a small independent charity which matches volunteer lawyers with opportunities to use their skills for the public good (pro bono). RISE - BAN - Help your clients win more contracts and respond effectively to tendering opportunities

Location - Exeter

On the 9 of March, the Business Advice Network event will focus on helping your clients win more contracts by responding effectively to tendering opportunities. Angela Heap will be our key speaker. Angela co-ordinates Social Enterprise London’s European Regional Development Fund Project ‘Opening New Markets’, which focuses on enabling third sector organisations to win contracts. She delivers regular training sessions on policies and procedures required for procurement, with a special focus on environmental policies.

In the afternoon, the business advisor Karin Jordan from Alchemy will be delivering a session on the use of a quick coaching tool/framework that will help you to support clients to explore options and agree a way forward especially when restricted with time.
