New Cambridge Paper: The Great Financial Crisis
The self-destructive tendency of a debt-based financial system is being retaught with a vengeance by the current financial crisis. To diagnose our current plight, our latest Cambridge Paper by international economist Paul Mills expounds the biblical teaching on debt, interest, and finance; explains what is really going on from a relational perspective; and draws applications for the Christian, the church, and society.  As usual, you can also find a summary of the paper and other readers’ comments on our website.

The Big Society is not just about volunteering. It also includes starting social enterprises and bringing new ethical principles and social transformation agendas to business. Changes to GiftAid

As a registered charity, we are able to claim back tax through the GiftAid scheme on all donations given to us by UK taxpayers.  In recent years, we have been able to claim an extra 28p for every £1 donated but from 6th April this amount will decrease to 25p per £1.  Three pence may not sound a lot, but last year almost £20,000 of our income came from reclaimed GiftAid.  So, this 3p reduction in GiftAid could hit our income by £2,000 per year.  If you are thinking of making a donation in the near future, in order to maximise the value of your gift to Jubilee Centre, can we therefore encourage you to do so before 5th April?  If you would like to, you can donate securely online via the Support pages of our website.
