Business Support Events UpdateWe’d like to take this opportunity to tell you about some practical business support events coming up from Social Enterprise UK. Alongside our busy autumn events schedule of policy forums and workshops, these business support events focussing on social franchising, business planning and development, investment, and leadership are all designed to increase knowledge, develop skills, create opportunities and grow your social enterprise. For more information please don’t hesitate to contact us, and we look forward to seeing you at an event soon. - The Business Support Team, Social Enterprise UK - Social Franchising WorkshopsTo provide practical help to social enterprises wishing to explore their franchise potential, Social Enterprise UK has teamed up with School for Social Entrepreneurs and CAN to devise a new social franchising programme for organisations looking to replicate their work. The School for Social Entrepreneurs are running three Social Franchising Workshops across the country in October and November, with prices starting from £50 for social enterprises. Participants will be introduced to a wide range of established and successful social franchisors working in the private and third sectors to understand and overcome the challenges of growing and replicating a social enterprise. We are holding 3 workshops across the country: Cost: - Voluntary organisations and social enterprises: £50 - Support organisations for V&SE sector £100 - Private business £150 All prices inclusive of VAT For further information about the event and to access our other social franchising resources, please click: An Enterprising FutureSocial Enterprise UK and Community Matters are hosting a social enterprise business support event for children and young people’s organisations which will take place on Thursday 10 November in London. The event will bring together social enterprise start-ups and VCO organisations looking to move to a social enterprise model within children and young people's services. As well as hearing from inspirational speakers and learning about issues facing the sector, the event will provide you with a forum in which you can learn new skills, develop your business acumen, and better understand the social enterprise model. The event will take you on a journey through setting up a social enterprise, starting with a plenary session and introduction to the business model, and then breaking off into workshops, one-to-one surgeries, and networking sessions. Cost: This event is free for members of Social Enterprise UK, Community Matters, Children England, NCVYS, NAVCA or the Race Equality Foundation. £75 for non-members. Social Investment ExplainedOver the last decade, there has been a significant increase in the emergence of social investment providers and intermediaries. There has also been growing interest among mainstream banking institutions to engage with social enterprise, and Government is committed to achieving its vision of a thriving social investment market to help build a bigger, stronger society. Social Investment Explained is a half day event designed to provide greater insight and understanding of social investment for social enterprises.
