SE Magic Bus's learning-by-doing approach emphasizes personal growth, leadership development, and skills acquisition. SE Magic Bus inspires social entrepreneurship at home by imbuing its participants with knowledge, tools, networks, and practical experience to become change makers. Social Enterprise Magic Bus is a one-of-a-kind experiential learning program that yields real results. Social Enterprise Start Up School - is an intensive "boot camp"-like course designed for graduate students, recent grads, practitioners and professionals interested in learning how to design and launch a social enterprise. Created in concert with a top tier Indian Management University in Hyderabad, Social Enterprise Start Up School fosters interaction, collaboration and a joint discovery process between participants from the US, Canada, Europe and India though competitions, discussions, assignments and field work. From ideation to feasibility analysis and business planning, participants work closely in teams to conceive a business concept based on a real social problem, and then undertake a research and planning process to craft an implementable social venture business plan aimed at solving the problem. Classroom lectures direct participants' extensive field-based research to understand on the ground realities, market conditions, and social intricacies that inform their business concept. Magic Bus participants will live and work in rural and urban India, experiencing social enterprise in both contexts. At the end of the course participants will complete a real social enterprise business plan. Start date early October 2012 (exact dates to be decided.) Course credits may be available through Indian Management Institute in Hyderabad.
