Diversity and Equity Leadership Institute November 16-19 November 19-20 for Train the Trainer Loyola House, Guelph, Ontario Offered by Anima Leadership and the Canadian Race Relations Foundation, this is a highly interactive and experiential course grounded in adult pedagogy and layered with cutting-edge information from the fields of neuroscience, social psychology and bias research. By combining anti-racism with emotional intelligence and conflict resolution, a deeply holistic program has been developed that balances intellect with emotions, and internal factors with external forces. The Diversity & Equity Leadership Institute will greatly assist participants in understanding the critical role of emotions in conflict that involves difference (race, gender, etc.). The learner will explore "blind spots" and emotional "triggers" that cause us to react and respond to issues, as individuals and organizations. The participants will become more effective in dealing with the conflict that emerges from issues of diversity and racism, and as a result be better equipped to work with diverse communities.
