The ECSEL 2010 Program
In April 2010, the ECSEL 2010 Program will bring Chinese students to the United States for a weeklong program designed to assist aspiring social entrepreneurs on their path to building businesses that create positive change. There are two parts to this program.
First, we will stop at the University of the Pacific near San Francisco, California, where a custom-built two-day workshop will connect these students with leaders of businesses and organizations making an impact on social and environmental issues in the U.S., China, and around the world. Students will learn from their experiences and discuss how these issues can be effectively addressed in China. Students will then head to San Francisco to tour leading organizations working in clean energy, development, and other issues.
Second, students will travel to Miami, Florida for the 2010 Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U). The William J. Clinton Foundation, started by President Bill Clinton after his term in office, sponsors this conference for 1,500 students to discuss major global challenges and how each person can make a difference. Students will interact with political, business, and social leaders as well as young leaders from across the United States and world.
