Funding for Section 19 Community Transport Operators - £1,000 per vehicle per annum

In May 2002 the Department for Transport extended Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG) to Section 19 Community Transport Operators. The grant is based on the fuel issues and mileage operated to transport eligible passengers. These passengers will include the elderly, disabled, those in receipt of job seekers allowance / income support and many for whom traditional modes of public transport are not available or practical. On average operators receive around £1,000 per vehicle per annum.
