The grant is based on the fuel issues and mileage operated to transport eligible passengers. These passengers will include the elderly, disabled, those in receipt of job seekers allowance / income support and many for whom traditional modes of public transport are not available or practical. On average operators receive around £1,000 per vehicle per annum.
