25 Entrepreneurs Have Been Chosen! What do a Nigerian Ashoka Fellow broadcasting agricultural and market information to 250,000 smallholder farmers, an American engineer scaling a carbon-negative process for converting agricultural waste into energy, and a Venezuelan scientist developing a low-cost DNA test for treatable diseases have in common? Along with 22 other high-impact entrepreneurs, they have endured three rounds of vetting to become the world’s first ever Unreasonable Fellows! Each of them has raised $6,500 on the Unreasonable Finalist Marketplace in a tremendous testament to their ability as entrepreneurs. What’s most noteworthy is the selection of our 25 entrepreneurs is culmination of the collective effort of over 3,000 people from 130 countries, who contributed $162,500 to our Fellows on the marketplace. And the profiles of our entrepreneurs were viewed by over 50,000 unique visitors, driven to the Unreasonable Finalist Marketplace by media like the Wall Street Journal, Inc. Magazine, and Ode Magazine (check out the articles in our "In the News" section below). Our Fellows will join us in Boulder this summer from May 28 to August 8, 2010. You can read quick profiles of their ventures on our Unreasonable Fellows Page. Our daily focus is now to give these entrepreneurs wings! You’re Invited to Our Opening Pitch Fest! Who: Our 25 Fellows launching ventures in 17 countries and hailing from 6 continents in front of at least 150 entrepreneurs, investors, and supporters What: Each Fellow will deliver an earth-shattering 5-minute Ignite! pitch, with the goal of lighting the room on fire. When: Sunday, May 30th from 5pm – 7:30pm Where: Main Lobby of the ATLAS Building in Boulder, CO. Click here for directions. Cost: None, you just gave us $162,500. Why: Because the future of the world depends on it. No big deal. Oh and light food and refreshments will be provided. Email wisdom@unreasonableinstitute.org with questions. |
