As our student body continues to expand, we must do all we can to meet their academic needs. As such we have expanded the leadership in our academic programs as well as at the management level of the University.
Academics from California, Greece, Nigeria and New York have joined us, providing educational expertise and oversight.
I am confident that these individuals will each add great value and bring a new global perspective to our programs. Thank you for your continued support.

Over his 20 years of work at for-profit online universities, Shai Reshef started to notice something spectacular. Online communities that helped each other with their homework were popping up all over the Internet, and people were teaching each other –- for free. At the same time, open educational resources and open source technologies were becoming increasingly available. This gave him an interesting idea. “If we take the millions of people around the world who could not afford going to university and teach them tuition-free, we’re not only changing their lives, and their families’ lives, we also change their communities, their countries,” he says. “And if we have a lot of them, we will change the world.“ - Mashable, January 3, 2011 | "Last year I posted a roundup of groups on the ground to support conducting critical relief and reconstruction and Nation readers were extremely generous. The problems, unfortunately, are still beyond grave and there are numerous ways to continue to help. University of the People (UoPeople), a non-profit organization, is currently seeking funds to expand its presence in Haiti and fulfill its commitment to reach 250 students. With financial support, UoPeople will establish additional computer and resource centers in the coming months and years." -The Nation, January 12, 2011 What Haiti needs most, one year post-quake. 220,000 dead. Millions without water, food and shelter. Shocking images of children and parents struggling to be reunited. Do you remember where you were one year ago today when a 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti? Despite the utter devastation, Haitians -- along with an incredible amount of support from people around the world, including Americans who donated more than $1.4 billion to the rebuilding effort (from Charity Navigator) -- have strived to rebuild their country with hopes making it a place of prosperity, even better than it was before the earthquake. As the country continues to face speed bumps and hurdles along the long road to recovery, here are ways that folks are helping support these valiant efforts (along with idea on how you can still get involved!): -Education: In an effort to help the grief stricken region one year after the devastating earthquake and as part of its commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative, University of the People (UoPeople), a non-profit organization, is currently seeking funds to expand its presence in Haiti and fulfill its commitment to reach 250 students. With financial support, UoPeople will establish additional computer and resource centers in the coming months and years.
