Spotlight on IRIS Adoption: Case Study from the KL Felicitas Foundation & the GIIN

To provide a model of IRIS adoption by impact investors, the KL Felicitas (KLF) Foundation and the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) jointly released a case study which explains KLF's motivation for IRIS adoption and details the Foundation's application of IRIS across its active investment portfolio. An initiative of the GIIN, IRIS (Impact Reporting and Investment Standards) is a common language for reporting the social, environmental, and financial performance of impact investments. The KL Felicitas Foundation was founded in 2000 and uses both grant funding and impact investments to enable social entrepreneurs and enterprises worldwide to develop and grow sustainably, with an emphasis on serving rural communities and families.

GIIN Investors' Council Welcomes The Tony Elumelu Foundation

The Tony Elumelu Foundation is an African foundation using impact investing as its primary financing tool to help foster the small and growing business segment of the private sector across the African continent. Founder Tony O. Elumelu, who led United Bank for Africa through its transformation from a single-country bank to a diversified financial services group, is a vocal champion of impact investing in Africa, and advocates for increased participation and partnership in the development of an industry to support investments that mix financial and social returns.
