1000 SMEs started every year by 2016, creating 8,500 new jobs in emerging countries and funneling USD 25 million in finance to SMEs per year. BiD Network has ambitious yet feasible objectives for the coming years. We are glad to welcome new partners and investors to take up these challenges.
News   Indonesian entrepreneur Putera Sampoerna invests with BiD Network in an exclusive SMEs platform.
The Indonesian entrepreneur Putera Sampoerna and BiD Network incorporated a new innovative joint company. BiDx, the company, will build a new innovative online platform that engages and connects entrepreneurs from developing countries with mentors, partners and investors. This new release of BiD Network.org will initiate an important step in closing the financing gap for Small and Medium Enterprises in developing countries. Read more
Challenges Women in Business Women In Business Challenge 2011, and the winner is…
The Women in Business Challenge aims at supporting women entrepreneurs in developing countries to start and grow their businesses. The 5 finalists were selected by an expert jury panel that deemed their business proposals as the best ones among 242 participants. The grand prize was awarded to Nathalie Arsonillo and her company Mobile Cassava Processing Unit on June 9th, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. More info and pictures here.
 
Story of the Month Interview with entrepreneur Marianne Olano, Baycrafts
Marianne Olano started Baycrafts, her jewelry company based in the Philippines in 2005. She won the ING retail prize at the Growing SMEs competition in 2010. After the refreshing and moving speech she gave at BiD Challenge Philippines in May 2011, we wanted to share her inspirational story and wisdom with you. Read her story.
 
MFS II  Welcome to our new partners in Palestine, Kosovo, Burundi, Liberia and Rwanda. 
In November 2010, SPARK and BiD Network received the final allocation of the MFS II fund from the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The mission of the MFS II program is to stimulate economic growth in post conflict areas by empowering entrepreneurs and creating employment opportunities. The generous 4.7 million euros fund allocated to BiD Network will allow us to work intensively together for five years with local partner organisations in Palestine, Kosovo, Burundi, Liberia and Rwanda.
