Welcome to the rise newsletter. It's been a busy few weeks for us, read on for all the latest news, as well as details of social enterprise events happening in the region.


  • If you're a social enterprise, don't miss the chance to enter the Social Vision photo competition.
  • Book onto Knowing and Growing 2011: The rise annual conference. Taking place on the 1st November in Bristol, and run in collaboration with UWE and the Social Enterprise Mark Company, its a one-day exhibition dedicated to helping innovative social enterprises and charities to compete, flourish and grow. Entry is just £30. Find out more
  • If you're based in Torbay and want to learn more about social enterprise, take advantage of the free seminar being run on Monday 17th October from 1pm-3pm. Find out more
  • If you're based in Plymouth and would like to help your organisation plan for a successful future, book onto the Growing your Social Enterprise workshop on Monday 24th October from 9.30am-1.30pm. It will help you secure your financial future, move from grant funding to ‘earned’ income and manage your cashflow. Find out more

Community groups are the vital link
