Social Entrepreneurship Program at the University of Cape Town
Connect-123’s Social Entrepreneurship Program at the University of Cape Town provides a hands-on, one-of-a-kind experience in the challenges of entrepreneurship as well as the special opportunities present in emerging markets. The Program is offered to both UCT students and international students and includes a substantial fieldwork component – where students work side-by-side with local social entrepreneurs – blending experiential and classroom-based learning.
Courses are taught by UCT faculty and students receive a transcript from UCT, which is one of Africa’s leading teaching and research institutions. The University recommends 16 transfer credits for the semester-long experience. International students are required to take the core course, Building Emerging Enterprises, plus two electives from the UCT course handbook.
