Read More... RISE was recently invited to submit evidence and attend a parliamentary select committee regarding the contribution made by South West social enterprises in the following important sectors: low carbon technologies, creative industries and the digital economy.
RISE Chief Executive, Lucy Findlay, commented: “This was an important platform for social enterprises in South West England to be recognized for their contribution to the economy.
I welcomed the opportunity to advise the Committee that social enterprise should be seen as a mainstream business model and that social and environmental business considerations must not be lost from the economic recovery debate.”

RISE - BAN - Help your clients win more contracts and respond effectively to tendering opportunities
Location - Exeter
On the 9 of March, the Business Advice Network event will focus on helping your clients win more contracts by responding effectively to tendering opportunities. Angela Heap will be our key speaker. Angela co-ordinates Social Enterprise London’s European Regional Development Fund Project ‘Opening New Markets’, which focuses on enabling third sector organisations to win contracts. She delivers regular training sessions on policies and procedures required for procurement, with a special focus on environmental policies.
In the afternoon, the business advisor Karin Jordan from Alchemy will be delivering a session on the use of a quick coaching tool/framework that will help you to support clients to explore options and agree a way forward especially when restricted with time.
The day will be a combination of presentations, feedback and discussions.
