Fw: Unreasonable Times: Choose Your Entrepreneurs

"When you do the common things in life in an uncommon way, you will command the attention of the world." George Washington Carver

What is Social Entrepreneurship?

Statement of Faith
You can find other "Market with Meaning" but you definitely want to see "Profit with Purpose".
I personally "Believe in Kingdom Transformation" because I know there is only ONE "Life for Significant".

These are Unreasonable Times and we have created an Unreasonable Newsletter accordingly. If you are receiving this newsletter, it's because you signed up for it (for which we are grateful) or because you are an incredibly unreasonable person who would enjoy keeping up with significant events at the Unreasonable Institute and key opportunities in the social entrepreneurship space. You're welcome to unsubscribe at the bottom of this page.

You Decide Which 25 Entrepreneurs attend the Unreasonable Institute on the Finalist Marketplace

Since our last newsletter nearly two months ago, we have a gazillion things we’d love to update you on. But truly, nothing matters to us at the moment with the exception of one thing: our 34 finalists are in a race to raise $6,500. The first 25 to cross the finish line will attend the Unreasonable Institute. And the outcome of this race is up to you.

Head to our online Finalist Marketplace and vote with your dollars for an entrepreneur you believe will change the course of history. The fate of our finalists, and of the lives they will affect, rests in your hands.

How You Can Help

Whether or not you can contribute financially to any of the entrepreneurs on the marketplace, perhaps the single most important way to support our finalists without spending a dollar or more than 10 minutes of your time is to tell 5 people you know about the opportunity to back these young, high-impact entrepreneurs. You can copy and paste details below.

Email: Stick the opening paragraph describing the Finalist Marketplace in an email to your friends, family, and professional contacts!

Vote for Social Entrepreneurship

Sparkseed, one of the Unreasonable Institute’s pipeline partners, is a finalist in the Social Innovation Awards. Most of the competitors are large corporations (Gap, Verizon, ING) with modestly innovative ideas. Sparkseed is a start-up that identifies, incubates, and invests in the top student innovators in the U.S. Your vote can make a difference. Click here to learn more about Sparkseed and to vote.

The Life Investment: Would You Sell Yourself to Change the World?

As social entrepreneurs scavenge for resources to fuel their mission, a new age is dawning in social capital. The Thrust Fund is based on faith in "The People" rather than "The Idea." Offering 4-6% of their life’s earnings, these social entrepreneurs are seeking $300-$600K to supercharge their social impact now. Join the Social Capital Markets & Hub Bay Area communities on for an evening in San Francisco with people putting their lives on the line in a new mixture of trust and risk, power and money, giving and receiving, hope and fear. PURENYC: An Innovation Hub for Social Innovation in the Big Apple

If you are interested in learning more or working out of its co-working space, please email info@purenewyork.org to subscribe for updates (and vote for PURENYC in Pepsi’s Refresh Challenge)!

Although there are a number of opportunities we would be delighted to share with you, the most 34 most unreasonable opportunities we know of can be found on the Unreasonable Finalist Marketplace.
