June 24, 2010 Hello, BC Social Venture Partners is a network of BC business people and their families who provide financial assistance and mentorship to help nonprofit organizations increase their capacity to deliver positive social impact. They take an innovative approach to philanthropy, applying the venture capital principles of the business world to create lasting change in the social sector. Their model of "time plus money" distinguishes them from other grant-making organizations, and ensures that the grants they give are used to achieve the best results possible. Current areas of interest are Women's Issues, Building Brighter Futures for Children and Youth, and Social Enterprise. If you are interested in applying for a grant, SVP strongly encourages you to attend their Grants Information Session on Tuesday, August 31st 10am to noon, in Vancouver. This session will help you decide if working with SVP is right for you. You will be given all the necessary information required to engage in the process at that time. Grants are $30K per year for 3 years, plus high level consulting for the organization (free of charge). Please click here to register.
