September 2011

In partnership with Leslie Christian and Portfolio 21 Investments, we have released a white paper questioning the foundations of current investment practice and proposing new principles for investing in the 21st century. We're presenting this paper at a special session at SOCAP, which kicks off a busy fall full of conferences and events.  Speaking of events, we are beside ourselves with anticipation of Celebrating Rudolf Steiner, a festival we are hosting to honor Steiner's legacy, 150 years after his birth.   In addition, check out some of our new borrowers, grantees and job opportunities at RSF!

June & July Grantmaking Activity

Hidden Villa is a non-profit education organization that stretches over 1600 beautiful acres of open space in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains about 40 miles south of San Francisco. With a mission to inspire a just and sustainable future through its programs, lands and legacy, it uses an organic farm, wilderness, and community to teach and provide opportunities to learn about the environment and social justice...Read the full post on the Reimagine Money blog.

What's So Funny About Administration?

The philanthropic world has increasingly demanded more impact assessment and outcome tracking from non-profits. I have seen this at every Grants Manager Network conference I have attended in the last three years. Complex matrixes and measurement tools are shared and then implemented in the non-profit world.  It always seemed strange to me that a funder would be directing the outcomes, rather than the non-profits, or even the communities being served...Read the full post on the Reimagine Money blog.

RSF Staff at Work in the Community

It’s 2pm on a Thursday afternoon, and RSF staff members have their hands wrist-deep in dirt—soil, that is!  August 4th marked RSF’s second annual service day, where RSF staff members vacate their desks for an afternoon to spend time working with projects that give back to the community.  This year, staff members selected two local organizations to work with: the Community Garden Project of the San Francisco Waldorf School, and the Marin Headlands Nursery....Read the full post on the Reimagine Money blog.
