We are really excited about our brand new Change for Good program! In case you haven't heard about it, Change for Good is a subscription program that sends a box full of varied fair trade consumables from Trade as One to your doorstep every 3 months. Every seasonal delivery is $99 (just over a dollar per day) and includes 12-15 products, plus recipes, producer stories, and exclusive offers and goodies only for Change for Good subscribers. Every season will be different- you’ll receive all natural items of superb quality, such as chocolate, rice, olive oil, sugar, quinoa, tea, dip mixes, herbs and spices, as well as other everyday items such as hand soap and lip balm. And, of course, these fair trade products are all produced by people living in poor and marginalized situations, but who are being treated fairly, sustainably, and with dignity through the selling of their crops or products. As a subscriber, you will be trying out new products, and discovering fair trade alternatives for products you already use regularly. You will get to know the stories of the people behind the products that you receive. And you will also broaden your understanding of how we can use our everyday needs to be a blessing and source of hope to people on the other side of the world. Hassan and Belaid were Green Sahara’s first two Moroccan employees back in 2008. As Morocco has historically been a crossroads for many cultures, both men are fluent in two languages - Hassan speaks Arabic and French and Belaid speaks Arabic and Berber. Both are skilled at fine woodworking and they, along with the greater Green Sahara team, continue to make a wide range of unique wood products. Trade as One is beginning its 4th year carrying Green Sahara products including cutting boards, tea trays, and candleholders ( single tealight and gypsum) – all handcrafted in Morocco. Hassan and Belaid have another fantastic thing in common – they are both married with 2 children each. Some of the great benefits that fair trade brings are fair wages and sustainable employment. Hassan and Belaid take great pride in working hard to provide for their families. Many Moroccans, including Hassan and Belaid and their families, spend a relatively high percentage of their income on quality education for their children. They believe this continual investment will lead to a brighter future for their lives in Morocco. Thanks for your continual commitment to Trade as One's producers – it certainly helps fathers like Hassan and Belaid support their families and improve their lives.
