Santander Social Enterprise Awards

On the 16th of April Red Ochre’s Managing Director Uday Thakkar participated in a panel to choose 3 London based social enterprises for the Santander Social Enterprise Development Awards. Collectively the three social enterprises won £95,000. The competition was fierce and the entrants were doing a host of really interesting and wonderful work. The awards are expected to accelerate the growth of the social enterprises. There are future rounds of the awards and should be considered for those seeking a boost to their funding and their publicity.

The 3 award winners were:
   • MAC-UK, a Camden-based social enterprise providing youth-led music projects for young
people with complex mental health issues
   • Walthamstow-based Forest Recycling Project, a social enterprise that provides recycling services to communities
Enabling Enterprise, a community interest company which provides work experience to school leavers in East London.
