Great ideas developed during Social Business Lab held at EBS University in Germany - In the beginning of April GCL conducted a Social Business Lab at the EBS University in Wiesbaden.
- The EBS University was not only host of the event but actively participated with students.
- We welcomed 35 highly motivated guests from corporations, universities and NGOs from different parts of Germany to the lab.
- During the lab the concept of social business and social business best practices were presented to the participants. Followed by four different breakout sessions, the participants were working together on social business plans and developed great ideas.
- One workshop focused on “Age as an Asset”, how to use the potential of elderly people through social business. The developed idea has great potential for implementation! Other topics included “Social Business City”, “Youth unemployment” and “Malnutrition in developing countries”.
Age as an Asset – Social Business conference at EBS University in Germany - On April 25 and 26 a conference on social business and aging boomers “Age as an Asset” took place at the EBS University in Oestrich-Winkel.
- In the time of a constantly aging population in Germany, EBS University and Danone Germany staged this first conference on social business and aging under the auspice of the German Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, Dr. Kristina Schröder.
- The two days conference brought together international researchers, policy makers, business leaders and practitioners to discuss trends and strategies and to explore possibilities of social business and entrepreneurial activities related to demographic change and an aging society.
- GCL actively engaged in the discussions and Prof. Yunus had sent a personal video message, which can be viewed here.
Social Business Lab held at ESPM in Brazil - GCL and ESPM organized a Social Business Lab on April the 23rd and 24th at ESPM Campus in São Paulo. It was the first Social Business Lab at a University in Brazil.
- Professors, students and professionals interacted and discussed social business concepts and international cases. Five teams brainstormed social business ideas to fight corruption, to reduce child mortality rate, to improve quality education and to reduce waste. All with joy!
- The workshop was an enthusiastic starting point for ESPM to develop concrete ideas towards launching its Social Business Center during the second semester of 2012 in partnership with GCL.
