HST Webinar: What You Need to Know to be Ready The Ontario Nonprofit Network is hosting a 2-hour webinar on February 18, 2010 to help nonprofits and charities prepare for the new Harmonized Sales Tax. As a result of two sold out HST seminars last week, ONN has invited tax expert, Jonathan Spencer, C.A., back for another outstanding presentation. While the HST does not come into effect until July 1, 2010, nonprofits and charities need to have their new accounting systems in place for May 1, 2010 when transitional rules come into effect. This webinar will lead members through the key elements of the HST, help organizations understand how the HST will affect them and develop a plan for the necessary changes. The seminar will be of interest to Executive Directors, staff and board members charged with implementing the HST at their organizations and communicating the impact of the new tax. CiviCRM Receives Top Rating From Non-Profits Recently, CiviCRM, an open source constituent relationship management system received the highest rating for Overall Happiness in the Nonprofit Technology Network's (NTEN) just released Data EcoSystem Survey. CiviCRM beat out other commonly used systems including Raiser's Edge, Convio, Salesforce, DonorPerfect, as well Custom Built Solutions. This follows CiviCRM's top ranking in NTEN's 2007 Constituent Relationship Management Survey for the system that nonprofit users were most willing to recommend or recommend highly. Participants can expect to learn effective breathing, body use, voice care, projection and cadence.
