Thank you for signing up for our National Ethical Investment Week update.

NEIW11 (16-22 October) is fast approaching and preparations are in full swing. Financial organisations, faith and community groups and others have various events and activities planned.

A number of events are now up on the website and more are being added as they are confirmed, so please check the website regularly to see what's happening in your area.

Some events & activities in National Ethical Investment Week:

17 October
: SRI Conference: Learn how you can make money and make a difference. All you ever wanted to know about ethical investment and didn't know to ask.

18-21 October
: Charity Bank Borrower Visits. Charity Bank invites you
to join their 2011 Different Journeys Programme. Each visit gives you the chance to meet the staff of the charities they support, as well as the people they work with and help.

19 October: Beyond Hor Air: Protecting Value in a Changing Climate. This breakfast seminar, for church and charity investors aims at getting beyond rhetorical hot air and explore what the challenges of climate change mean for the invesment portfolios of mission-driven organisations.

Government announcements mark progress for green and social investment initiatives
Business Secretary Vince Cable has announced the nine members of the Advisory Board of the Green Investment Bank, which includes our Chief Executive Penny Shepherd. The Government has also formally launched the Big Society Bank, now oficially named Big Society Capital. It aims to play a critical role in speeding up the growth of the social investment market.   

IMA stats highlight a growing demand for ethical funds
Investment Management Association's (IMA) latest quarterly statistics show that the second quarter of 2011 saw a 23% increase in net retail sales of ethical funds compared to the same period last year, the highest since Q4 2007.
